Location: Fully remote; work from anywhere. The role is open to candidates in the New York metro area and allows flexible scheduling.

What you will do
- Listen to Simplified Chinese audio recordings and compare them with existing transcripts.
- Correct wrong characters, missing words, misheard phrases, punctuation, and other transcription errors.
- Verify word-level accuracy, timestamps, and alignment of transcript segments.
- Apply detailed style and formatting guidelines consistently across tasks.
- Flag poor audio quality, ambiguous speech, and segments requiring further review.
- Maintain accuracy across large volumes of transcript data while working independently.
Requirements
- Native or near-native Simplified Chinese proficiency in reading, writing, and listening.
- Exceptional listening skills, including the ability to understand challenging audio.
- Strong attention to detail and a patient, methodical approach to repetitive precision work.
- Comfort with word-level accuracy, exact timing, and timestamps.
- Ability to follow structured style and formatting guidelines consistently.
- Self-motivation and reliability when working independently; prior AI or technology experience is not required.
Nice to have
- Experience as a transcriptionist, court reporter, or stenographer.
- Subtitle editing, closed-captioning, or dubbing experience.
- Education in linguistics, phonetics, or language studies.
- Experience with annotation platforms, data-labeling tools, or speech-to-text systems.
- Familiarity with audio editing or transcript alignment tools and multiple Chinese dialects or regional accents.
