Sourcing & Category Manager - Meat & Seafood

Salary: $95,000–$105,000 per year

What you will do

• Own end-to-end third-party procurement and account management across multiple facilities.
• Source ingredients, forecast demand, negotiate costs, and represent assigned categories with major accounts.
• Identify suppliers and product innovations for assigned Produce or Grocery categories.
• Manage short-term purchasing while developing sustainable long-term sourcing strategies.
• Monitor vendor reliability, quality, and compliance, implementing corrective actions and contingency plans.
• Manage, coach, and develop a Buyer Analyst responsible for demand planning and purchase order management.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in category management, wholesale procurement, or third-party account management.
• Produce experience is required when supporting Produce categories; broader food industry experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience plus three years of experience.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, forecasting, profitability analysis, and contract process management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Knowledge of food product specifications, USDA Organic and Fair Trade certifications, food safety regulations, shelf life, packaging durability, and quality control processes.
