TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure & Platform (Aerospace): Building multicloud, Kubernetes-based infrastructure and delivery platforms for satellite and airborne communications systems with an accent on cloud foundations, disconnected deployments, and fleet-scale software delivery. Focus on designing self-service infrastructure primitives, operating Kubernetes across commercial, government, and secure environments, and solving observability, upgrade, policy, and rollout challenges.
Location: Remote (United States). The role involves access to export-controlled information and requires eligibility under U.S. export regulations.

What you will do
- Build cloud foundations including accounts, projects, networking, DNS, IPAM, identity, RBAC, quotas, and policy.
- Own the end-to-end Kubernetes cluster lifecycle, including provisioning, upgrades, addons, Gateway API, service mesh, and zero-trust connectivity.
- Design disconnected deployment and packaging workflows with artifact mirroring, hermetic builds, offline bootstrapping, and out-of-band promotion.
- Build GitOps delivery, infrastructure-as-code orchestration, drift detection, OPA policy gates, and multi-environment promotion.
- Manage fleet-scale change mechanics such as versioning, staged rollouts, migrations, and deprecations.
- Operate the platform through availability management, upgrades, capacity planning, observability, backup and recovery, security maintenance, and incident response.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience with production infrastructure or distributed systems.
- Strong software engineering and infrastructure automation fundamentals.
- Experience with AWS or GCP, infrastructure-as-code, cloud networking, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Experience packaging and delivering software onto Kubernetes, including tradeoffs between templating, rendering, and controller-based approaches.
- Must qualify for access to U.S. export-controlled information under applicable ITAR/EAR requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience with classified, air-gapped, regulated, or otherwise constrained environments.
- Experience with cloud landing zones, identity foundations, workload identity, organizational policy, and quota management.
- Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux and multi-environment rollouts.
- Experience with Terraform or OpenTofu and reusable infrastructure modules.
- Experience designing infrastructure platforms used by multiple internal engineering teams.
