Senior Platform Engineer (Azure)

Hiring range: $142,500–$190,000 annually

What you will do

• Own the engineering of the Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud platform estate, including landing zones, subscriptions, management groups, governance, and platform integration patterns.
• Establish reusable infrastructure-as-code, configuration-as-code, and policy-as-code standards using Terraform, OpenTofu, Bicep, ARM, or equivalent tools.
• Automate provisioning, drift management, and platform lifecycle processes to reduce manual operations and toil.
• Design platform observability, monitoring, resilience, disaster recovery, and business-continuity capabilities across the estate.
• Engineer security guardrails, identity integration, secrets management, compliance baselines, and cloud cost optimization.
• Own AI platform services and infrastructure, including Azure AI and Azure OpenAI, and provide technical leadership across IT without direct reports.

Requirements

• 8+ years of infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering experience, including 5+ years engineering enterprise-scale cloud or IT platforms.
• Deep Microsoft Azure expertise across landing zones, subscriptions, management groups, Azure Policy, networking, Entra identity integration, and hybrid environments.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code experience, including module design, governance, drift management, lifecycle automation, and configuration or policy-as-code.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Monitor, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or equivalent observability platforms.
• Experience engineering enterprise-scale reliability, resilience, disaster recovery, platform security, hardening, secrets management, and least-privilege controls.
• Experience with cloud cost management, FinOps, capacity planning, cross-team technical influence, and leadership communication.

Nice to have

• Experience operating AI platform services such as Azure AI or Azure OpenAI at enterprise scale.
• Multi-cloud or complex hybrid platform experience and relevant Azure, Terraform, or architecture certifications.
• Experience with Azure Well-Architected reviews, CIS Benchmarks, NIST CSF 2.0, entertainment or media environments, or open-source infrastructure tooling.
