What you will do
- Underwrite new commercial credit requests and material modifications from deal screening through approval and the life of the loan.
- Monitor existing loan portfolios through annual reviews, covenant monitoring, interim updates, problem-loan management, and early-warning indicators.
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, credit data, appraisals, industry research, and peer information.
- Prepare financial models, cash flow analyses, collateral schedules, covenant sensitivities, guarantor analyses, and risk-rating recommendations.
- Partner with relationship managers, attend client calls, and present analysis and recommendations during credit discussions or committee presentations.
- Verify compliance with commercial credit policies, risk controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, plus 2 years of relevant commercial credit or financial analysis experience; an equivalent education and work-experience combination may be considered.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and credit-metric analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- Customer-focused interpersonal skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in Buffalo, New York, United States of America.

- Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, or Bloomberg.
