Process Engineering Intern (Bioethanol)

Location: On-site in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States, at hirify.global’s corporate headquarters and bioprocessing facilities. Up to 25% travel is required, including occasional overnight site visits.

What you will do

• Support Process Engineers with plant process design and system specification.
• Prepare block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
• Perform material and energy balances, support design selection, and specify equipment.
• Develop commissioning and operating procedures and analyze process data.
• Assist with on-site commissioning and start-up activities.
• Promote safe behavior, environmental compliance, and effective teamwork.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Junior or senior status in an accredited Engineering program, preferably Chemical Engineering.
• Organizational, time management, communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to understand the technical and daily operation of a bioprocessing facility.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new programs.
• Ability to work on-site and travel to bioprocessing facilities, including work involving physical activity, heights, confined spaces, PPE, and varying temperatures.
