Principal Product Manager (AI/ML)

Location: Flexible hybrid work environment with offices in Austin, Texas, and Reston, Virginia, United States

What you will do

• Define the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for model training and fine-tuning capabilities in hirify.globalFlow.
• Design and launch workflows for supervised and instruction fine-tuning, preference optimization, LoRA adapters, dataset management, and training job orchestration.
• Build evaluation, experiment tracking, model lineage, monitoring, and promotion workflows from training through production deployment.
• Translate complex ML workflows into scalable and intuitive experiences for enterprise, regulated, and deployment-constrained environments.
• Prioritize tradeoffs across model quality, data quality, cost, latency, usability, governance, and operational complexity.
• Collaborate with engineering, ML, infrastructure, design, field, go-to-market, executives, and customers to define requirements, metrics, launches, and iterations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience, including ownership of technical platform products.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML product development, especially model training, fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment.
• Experience working with ML engineers, platform or infrastructure teams, design teams, and developer-facing products.
• Ability to define product strategy, prioritize roadmaps, make decisions in ambiguous problem spaces, and drive cross-functional execution.
• Experience shipping complex capabilities from discovery through launch and iteration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI development, MLOps, LLMOps, developer tools, or technical enterprise platforms.
• Familiarity with SFT/IFT, LoRA, DPO, RLHF, dataset management, evaluation, experiment tracking, model registries, or deployment pipelines.
• Experience with regulated, security-sensitive, self-hosted, or air-gapped environments.
• Knowledge of open-source model ecosystems, GPU infrastructure, training orchestration, or distributed ML systems.
• Previous experience as a Principal PM, Staff PM, Group PM, or technical platform product lead.
