Location: Palo Alto, California, United States; hybrid work with 2–3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Conduct applied AI and machine learning research through individual assignments and collaborative projects.
• Develop and prototype AI solutions addressing real-world insurance business challenges.
• Contribute to technology initiatives, present research and project outcomes, and communicate with senior management.
• Help shape AI-driven insurance solutions in collaboration with technology associates and the CTO.
• Build high-quality, reusable, robust code for scalable AI applications.
• Apply developer tooling, monitoring practices, and SRE principles to AI solution deployment and maintenance.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a PhD and having completed at least two years in computer science, computer engineering, data science, machine learning, applied mathematics, statistics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Research experience demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, or significant research-project contributions in AI, machine learning, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, advanced machine learning, GenAI, LLMs, and AI agent foundations.
• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, programming, written, and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience using programming tools to develop AI prototypes and produce scalable, robust solutions for business problems.
