Cost Estimator (Infrastructure)

Location: Houston, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, or Pearland, Texas. Hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work.

What you will do

• Develop estimates for labor, materials, permanent equipment, supplies, consumables, expenses, construction equipment, contingency, escalation, and program risk.
• Support multiple projects and project teams across all phases from inception through close-out.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, material and labor take-offs, and cost comparison analyses using accepted industry methods.
• Assist with conceptual, schematic design, design development, construction document, change order, and check estimates.
• Use cost databases, software systems, historical data, and industry standards to produce estimates.
• Coordinate with lead estimators, project managers, construction management resources, and other disciplines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, requests for proposals, and contracts.
• Ability to develop order-of-magnitude, preliminary, definitive, change order, and check estimates.
• Ability to use company and industry historical data to support cost estimates.
• Ability to maintain consistent communication with other estimators.

Nice to have

• Mechanical and electrical estimating experience.
• Knowledge of cost estimating software, Microsoft Project, or Primavera.
• Experience maintaining cost databases.
• Experience across facilities, transportation, water and wastewater, heavy civil, or structural estimating.
