Hiring rate: $127,500–$170,000 annually

What you will do

• Support, stabilize, and modernize legacy SQL databases behind custom product and engineering applications.
• Build and operate resilient ELT pipelines from custom applications, SAP, and other business systems into a governed data store.
• Develop data models and analytics-ready datasets for BI, reporting, analytics, and AI consumers.
• Ensure high availability, backup and restore capability, failover, and disaster-recovery readiness, including RTO/RPO planning.
• Implement data governance, classification, lineage, access controls, and privacy requirements at the data layer.
• Maintain runbooks and documentation while developing broader database ownership through mentorship from the Senior DBA.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data and/or database engineering with progressive responsibility.
• Deep SQL Server administration expertise, including T-SQL, query optimization, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Experience modernizing legacy SQL or database environments through consolidation, upgrades, and migration.
• Experience with database high availability and disaster recovery, including Always On or clustering, backup and restore, and recovery planning.
• Experience engineering ELT pipelines and integrating multiple source systems, plus data modeling and analytics-ready datasets.
• Experience with foundational data governance and operationalizing GDPR, CCPA, or equivalent privacy regulations at the data layer.

Nice to have

• Microsoft certifications such as Azure Database Administrator DP-300, Azure Data Engineer DP-700 or DP-203, or SQL Server administration certification.
• Data-privacy certification such as IAPP CIPP/E or CIPP/US.
• Experience with Always On, log shipping, replication, backup and recovery tooling, SAP data integration, or Microsoft Purview.
• Background in media, entertainment, or other high-confidentiality, multi-region environments.
