Location: San Francisco, hybrid, with in-person attendance required 2–3 days per week
Salary: $190,000–$215,000 annual base salary for U.S.-based positions, plus equity

What you will do
- Lead finance for inference and model spend, including budgeting, monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and financial-plan maintenance.
- Build and maintain product-margin models using production usage data to reconcile revenue, serving costs, and gross margin.
- Analyze model-provider contracts, pricing structures, cost drivers, and routing-mix optimization opportunities.
- Own the source of truth for cost per request, margin by product and tier, and customer-segment and feature-level economics.
- Forecast model costs and translate product roadmaps and model transitions into spend and margin trajectories.
- Partner with product, inference, and data engineering teams to connect usage and serving-cost dynamics with financial frameworks.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in strategic finance, private equity, growth equity, consulting, or investment banking, preferably in software or AI products.
- Experience managing the financials of AI or LLM products and working directly with model providers or inference platforms.
- Deep expertise in usage-based pricing, subscription economics, and gross-margin and COGS attribution by customer and model family.
- Experience with model-serving economics, including latency, throughput, token usage, and their impact on margin performance.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, financial modeling, commercial judgment, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Proficiency with financial modeling tools.
