What you will do
- Lead and integrate construction operations across all service lines, markets, regions, and business units.
- Translate enterprise strategy into operational plans covering project delivery, staffing, equipment, resources, margins, and risk.
- Build scalable leadership structures, competency frameworks, succession plans, cross-training programs, and operational training.
- Drive client experience, operational KPIs, project closeout practices, strategic client relationships, and repeat business.
- Lead continuous improvement, standard operating procedures, digital transformation, and adoption of construction technologies.
- Evaluate automation, AI, and emerging tools while aligning technology investments with operational and client outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 20+ years of progressive leadership experience in Heavy Civil construction, including multi-market or multi-division operations.
- Experience building and scaling operational teams and leadership structures in complex or growing organizations.
- Strong knowledge of project management, construction operations, operational risk, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and performance optimization.
- Exceptional executive leadership, communication, stakeholder management, client relationship, and business development skills.
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide change and making strategic operational tradeoffs in field-based organizations.

- Experience leading growth, integration, or operating model transformation.
- Experience supporting national or multi-regional clients.
- Familiarity with competency-based leadership development and succession planning.
