Salary: $18.81–$23.51 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do
- Handle routine administrative, reception, records, filing, correspondence, and office support duties.
- Schedule physician visits, diagnostic procedures, tests, preventive visits, and follow-up appointments.
- Verify insurance, obtain billing information, complete prior authorizations and pre-certifications, and communicate status with patients, physicians, and insurers.
- Register patients in the practice management system and maintain accurate patient and office records.
- Explain financial responsibilities, coverage options, financial assistance, and payment processes to patients.
- Collect and post payments, run the end-of-shift money journal, balance collections, order supplies, and coordinate physician support schedules.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of healthcare experience, including staffing and scheduling.
- Computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, and the ability to learn new applications.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare expenses, billing, revenue, and reimbursement models.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, customer service, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and interact tactfully with patients, physicians, and insurance companies.
Nice to have
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
- Three years of healthcare experience, including staffing and scheduling.
- Medical transcription experience.
- OBGYN experience.
