What you will do
- Evaluate neurosurgery patients by taking detailed histories, performing physical examinations, and reviewing medical records.
- Order and interpret laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic studies.
- Develop and coordinate individualized treatment plans under the direction of supervising physicians.
- Manage patients with acute and chronic conditions and perform clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
- Provide patient and family education, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate care needs to the healthcare team.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient neurosurgery cross-coverage, participate in rounds, and respond to medical emergencies as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of a Physician Assistant program.
- Physician Assistant licensure within the first three months following receipt of a complete medical staff membership and privileges application.
- Physician Assistant certification.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to assess patients across age groups, evaluate complex clinical findings, and follow patient management plans under physician supervision.
- Ability to work onsite at Tufts Medical Center and meet the physical demands of patient care, including lifting and turning patients weighing 30–35 lbs.
