Sr. Design Engineer (Driveline Systems)

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of transmission, driveline, engine, and powertrain components from concept through production.
• Design gears, shafts, bearings, splines, chain drives, and related systems while managing schedules and program timing.
• Perform or support drivetrain analysis, gear mesh and load modeling, DFMEA, FEA, tolerance analysis, and other engineering evaluations.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and validation teams on design-for-manufacturing and DVP&R activities.
• Investigate supplier, manufacturing, testing, and field issues using structured problem-solving methods, while mentoring engineers and coordinating technical resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical, powertrain, transmission, driveline, or gear system design.
• Experience with component manufacturing processes, 3D CAD modeling, systems engineering, and requirements management; Creo experience is preferred.
• Experience with gear design, shaft design, bearing sizing, shift mechanisms, CVTs, clutches, splines, or chain drive systems.
• Experience with MASTA, ROMAX, KISSsoft, or similar drivetrain analysis software, plus GD&T, FMEA, DVP&R, and tolerance analysis.
