What you will do
- Procure hardware and build electrical test cabinets from schematics and specifications.
- Power up, validate, deploy, and commission testers for production and engineering builds.
- Review tester designs, identify schematic issues, and recommend improvements to engineering teams.
- Diagnose electrical faults and support production teams with tester maintenance and repairs.
- Document build processes, validation results, and deployment procedures.
- Provide technical guidance on the safe operation of test equipment and occasionally travel to contract manufacturer sites.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field plus 4 years of relevant experience, or 8+ years as an electrical technician in manufacturing.
- Proficiency reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with crimpers, wire strippers, multimeters, power tools, panel layouts, and component mounting.
- Strong understanding of voltage, current, power, wire sizing, and circuit protection.
- Knowledge of electrical safety protocols, including high-voltage procedures and lockout/tagout.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and identify fault conditions; occasional travel to contract manufacturer sites is required.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with EPLAN or similar electrical CAD software.
- Experience with PLCs, relays, contactors, automated test equipment, or test fixture design.
- Knowledge of RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, or CAN communication protocols.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers.
