Lead Architect, AI Solutions Architecture - Claim (AI)

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States

Annual base salary: $169,400–$279,600, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Architect scalable, production-grade AI, generative AI, and agentic AI systems across enterprise business domains.
• Design AI platform capabilities including LLM selection and routing, RAG pipelines, memory systems, vector databases, and tool or function calling.
• Lead technology proofs of concept, hands-on prototypes, and modernization initiatives that reduce technical debt.
• Advise technology and business architects, align architecture direction, and establish an enterprise AI solutions architecture practice.
• Develop AI governance, risk, and control processes covering responsible AI, ethics, bias mitigation, and model risk management.
• Communicate technology roadmaps, build organizational consensus, and mentor architecture and engineering colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM or technology field, or equivalent experience.
• 7 additional years of architecture or software engineering experience, with 8–10 years of architecture experience preferred, and 2 years of technical leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML systems, including ML algorithms, neural networks, optimization, distributed processing, MLOps, AI Ops, and CI/CD.
• Experience with generative AI foundations, LLMs, transformer architectures, diffusion models, VAEs, GANs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RLHF, multimodal systems, reinforcement learning, and autonomous planning.
• Experience with agentic patterns and technologies including RAG, vector databases, API integration, memory systems, LangChain, Strands, Crew AI, MCP, Agent2Agent, and AWS Bedrock AgentCore.
• Ability to work in Hartford, Connecticut, United States. Strong leadership, communication, strategic planning, collaboration, and insurance-industry knowledge are required; insurance technology experience is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure Foundry, Agent 365, or GCP/Gemini AI.
• Insurance technology experience.
