Launch Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Maintain program timelines, manufacturing readiness, and open-issues lists to support customer and program milestones.
• Coordinate plant deliverables and engineering deadlines with the overall program timeline.
• Manage launch startup costs against the program budget and supervise launch performance reporting.
• Monitor trim cover deliveries, production build quantities, and required delivery dates.
• Support manufacturing feasibility reviews and ensure quality documentation, Process Sign-Off, and Parts Submission are completed and approved.
• Coordinate customer, program management, JIT plant, and plant SDT teams during emphasis builds, dry runs, and Trim Plant Run ’n Rate activities.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Launch Engineer, Project Leader, or in an equivalent role.
• Knowledge of APQP, AIAG quality planning, Control Plans, FMEA, PPAP, dimensional layouts, gauge and fixture design, and performance or material testing.
• Experience with quality systems in manufacturing and customer communication.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma problem solving, Quality Roadmaps, Kepner-Tregoe, 8D, PPSC, DOE, and SPC.
