Director, External Communications & Reputation (Financial Services)

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; hybrid position requiring three days in office per week at a U.S. hub location

Salary: $145,000–$183,000 annually, plus potential annual bonus.

What you will do

• Manage enterprise and business-line reputation strategies, including preparedness and timely responses to high-impact issues and crises.
• Develop crisis communications plans, scenario planning materials, playbooks, and real-time responses.
• Build relationships with journalists, editors, and industry influencers.
• Advise senior leadership on reputational risk, corporate positioning, executive visibility, and emerging issues.
• Identify thought leadership opportunities across media, events, and speaking engagements.
• Draft press releases, articles, executive remarks, media statements, and issue responses while monitoring coverage, sentiment, and emerging risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, strategic marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 15 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or crisis communications.
• Experience managing high-profile reputational issues and sensitive situations.
• Experience developing and executing strategic communications plans at enterprise and business levels.
• Strong skills in earned media, message development, writing, editing, and issues management.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without immigration sponsorship or employer-of-record immigration support is required.
