Sr Mgr Trim Engineering (Automotive): Leading trim product development for a seating business unit with an accent on trim design, manufacturing feasibility, customer issue resolution, and program delivery. Focus on designing trim patterns, resolving sew and JIT process issues, approving PLM data releases, and coordinating global engineering and manufacturing teams.
Location: Central Tech Unit, Plymouth, Michigan, United States. Some global and regional travel is required.

What you will do
- Lead trim product development, design reviews, open-issue meetings, and technical direction for engineers, technicians, and support personnel.
- Develop trim design solutions that meet quality, cost, craftsmanship, timing, and performance objectives.
- Design trim patterns using manual pattern methods, Optitex 2D CAD tools, and Lectra.
- Resolve customer, product, and manufacturing issues through data-driven problem solving and the Basic Engineering Process.
- Approve trim data, changes, deviations, drawings, and supporting documentation in TPDM and PLM.
- Coordinate with foam, materials, metals, mechanisms, plastics, comfort, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality teams to support program execution and launch readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 10–15 years of trim product development experience.
- At least 5 years in a supervisory position within trim product development.
- Strong knowledge of trim cover construction, sewing equipment, NC cutters, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with DFMEA, Design for Assembly, trim engineering documentation, and corrective action planning.
- Ability to work at the Central Tech Unit in Plymouth, Michigan, with some global and regional travel.
