TL;DR
Senior Vice President, Head of Valuations (Private Markets): Developing and leading the firm’s valuation strategy and fair value framework across private equity, private credit, and infrastructure assets with an accent on governance, methodology, and scalable operating models. Focus on reviewing complex valuation models, challenging third-party providers, supporting SEC and regulatory engagements, and leading valuation governance across diverse fund structures.

Location: Boston, United States; hybrid arrangement with up to 18 remote workdays per quarter, subject to manager approval

Base salary: $285,000–$310,000 USD annually, plus a discretionary annual bonus and potential long-term rewards.

What you will do

  • Set the vision and operating strategy for the valuation function.
  • Own and evolve fair valuation methodologies, governance, documentation, testing, and process improvements across investments.
  • Manage third-party valuation providers, including onboarding, performance oversight, challenge processes, and vendor strategy.
  • Represent the firm in client, auditor, regulator, investor, fund board, and operational due diligence engagements.
  • Partner with Fund Accounting, Reporting, Legal, Compliance, Investment, Risk, and Operations teams on NAV processes, financial reporting, investor communications, and board materials.
  • Lead valuation governance forums and build a high-performing valuation team.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in valuation, audit, or fund accounting within alternative investments, asset management, or a top valuation firm.
  • Deep expertise in valuation, accounting, audit, or asset management across private equity, private credit, infrastructure, and other illiquid alternative assets.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP or equivalent, fair value accounting for Level 3 assets, and familiarity with IFRS.
  • Experience with registered investment companies, evergreen vehicles, closed-end private funds, and SEC Rule 2a-5 valuation frameworks.
  • Ability to review DCF and market-approach valuation models, assess valuation risk, and challenge third-party valuation agents and fund administrators.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
