Warehouse Operations Management Trainee (Minnesota) (Warehouse Operations/Supply Chain): Hands-on training across distribution center operations, management, and purchasing with an accent on leadership, inventory systems, customer service, and supply chain operations. Focus on learning warehouse procedures, operating heavy machinery, completing classroom training, and presenting an operations project to senior management.

Location: On-site training at SCP Distributors in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; classroom training in Plano, Texas. Relocation out of state is required after training, with company-provided assistance.

Compensation: $28.85 per hour for full-time positions in NV, NY, WA, CA, CO, CT, NJ, RI, and HI; relocation or cost-of-living adjustments may apply.

What you will do

  • Complete hands-on training across distribution center operations, management, and purchasing.
  • Learn operating methods, procedures, and performance standards by shadowing experienced employees.
  • Work with contractors, builders, service and maintenance providers, and retail customers to understand the swimming pool, irrigation, and landscaping business.
  • Attend classroom training covering operations, financials, leadership, human capital management, and operating systems.
  • Complete a comprehensive presentation to senior management at the end of the six-month program.
  • Support special operations projects and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in industrial distribution, supply chain management, management, operations, or a related discipline, with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Leadership or problem-solving experience, including relevant internships, organizations, volunteer work, athletics, or military leadership.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a distribution warehouse and lead a team in a changing environment.
  • Ability to relocate during and after the program for career development opportunities.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time and maneuver heavy machinery, including pallet jacks and forklifts, while lifting products up to 75 pounds.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background verification is required; the position is safety-sensitive.

Nice to have

  • Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn inventory and other software systems.
