Lead Technical Bridge Engineer

Location: Hybrid role based in Fort Worth, Frisco, Dallas, Denton, Austin, San Antonio, or Houston, Texas; up to 40% remote work.

What you will do

• Lead the planning, analysis, and design of bridge and retaining wall projects for public-sector clients.
• Serve as Engineer of Record and provide technical oversight from project development through delivery.
• Direct and review calculations, plans, specifications, reports, and other engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and support project managers with technical scope, design decisions, schedules, budgets, and quality.
• Provide solutions for complex bridge design challenges with attention to constructability and client requirements.
• Mentor engineers and improve bridge design practices, standards, workflows, and technical tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 6+ years of experience designing various types of bridges and retaining walls.
• Experience leading bridge design projects and serving as Engineer of Record or providing senior technical oversight.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO bridge design specifications and applicable agency standards.
• Experience delivering PS&E projects for TxDOT and availability to work from one of the listed Texas locations.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Experience in bridge inspection, rehabilitation, condition assessment, and asset management.
• Experience delivering PS&E projects outside Texas.
• Project management experience.
