TL;DR
Senior Technical Lead, BD (Biotech): Developing technically detailed proposals and project plans for biopharmaceutical process development, analytics, and GMP manufacturing services with an accent on translating client requirements into defined scopes, deliverables, costs, and timelines. Focus on coordinating scientific experts and business development stakeholders, managing RFP workflows, and presenting tailored technical project plans to clients.
Location: USA – Colorado – Boulder; 100% remote-option role with access to KBI sites and up to 10% travel.
Salary: $84,000–$115,500 per year, plus annual bonus eligibility.

What you will do
- Review client RFPs and clarify scopes, deliverables, assumptions, and technical requirements with clients and subject matter experts.
- Write, revise, and edit detailed proposals and project plans covering methods, objectives, outcomes, pricing, and timelines.
- Coordinate proposal development across Business Development, Process Development, Analytical Development, Manufacturing, and Program Management teams.
- Present KBI’s technical capabilities, proposals, timelines, and alternative project plans in client meetings.
- Maintain a centralized RFI/RFP knowledge database and support responses to client RFIs.
- Manage proposal deadlines, reviews, approvals, escalations, and workflow documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science with 5+ years of scientific or biotechnology experience, or a Master of Science with 2+ years, or a Ph.D. with 1+ year of relevant experience.
- Proven scientific writing skills and the ability to develop, review, and evaluate scientific documentation.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, quality orientation, customer service, integrity, and personal responsibility.
- Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to work remotely from the United States and travel up to 10%.
