Department Manager, Process & Mechanical (Chemical Process Engineering): Leading a piping department delivering mechanical and process engineering solutions across multiple EPCm and chemical process projects with an accent on resource planning, technical quality, safety, and cost control. Location: Onsite in Greenville, South Carolina, or in North Carolina or Tennessee, USA

Salary: $136,480–$204,720 per year

What you will do

  • Lead the piping department and coordinate manpower, technical tools, project scopes, and budget estimates across multiple initiatives.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet company policies, client requirements, national codes, quality standards, and safety expectations.
  • Develop staffing plans, manage utilization, and align department capabilities with project requirements.
  • Manage project cost, schedule, quality control, and on-time delivery.
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, and support training and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with senior management, project teams, clients, and stakeholders on strategic plans and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in EPCm or chemical process industries, including chemical, petrochemical, fibers, or chemical intermediates.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is mandatory.
  • Experience with project delivery, site visits, field data verification, cost estimates, scheduling, cost control, and quality management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to regularly perform job functions at the company office or work site in the specified USA locations.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degrees or related professional certifications.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, food and beverage, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience with Autodesk Plant 3D, laser scanning, and Caesar II pipe stress analysis.
