Sr. Software Engineer/Developer (Fullstack)

Location: Arlington, VA; 100% onsite, 5 days per week at the Office of Naval Research

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of complex full-stack software solutions.
• Define software architecture, design patterns, and technical approaches aligned with business requirements.
• Write maintainable, scalable code and uphold code review and quality assurance practices.
• Resolve complex technical issues, bugs, performance bottlenecks, and security challenges.
• Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and stakeholders to define requirements, scope, and timelines.
• Identify development risks and implement mitigation strategies to support reliable project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience, including delivery across the full software lifecycle.
• At least 3 years of experience as a lead developer, with demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills.
• Active Secret Clearance or current interim clearance is required to start.
• US or naturalized citizenship is required for eligibility.
• IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+ or equivalent, plus a computing environment certification such as Server+, Linux+, or AWS Certified Developer.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with DISA application development STIGs and Department of Defense information assurance policies and regulations.
