TL;DR
Senior Technical Lead, BD (Biopharma): Writing and coordinating detailed technical proposals and project plans for biopharmaceutical development, analytics, and GMP manufacturing services with an accent on translating client requirements into defined scopes, deliverables, budgets, and timelines. Focus on reviewing RFPs, coordinating scientific SMEs, presenting technical approaches to clients, and maintaining proposal knowledge systems.
Location: Remote; candidates may reside anywhere. Preference is given to candidates able to work on-site in Durham, North Carolina 1–2 times per week or as needed. Up to 10% travel is required.
Salary: $84,000–$115,500 per year, plus an annual bonus structure.

What you will do
- Review client RFPs and coordinate with subject matter experts to define scopes, deliverables, schedules, and costs.
- Write, revise, and edit detailed technical proposals, including executive summaries, assumptions, pricing, methods, outcomes, and Gantt-chart timelines.
- Review proposal content with Business Development, technical SMEs, and senior operations leadership.
- Present KBI capabilities and tailored project proposals in client teleconferences and in-person meetings.
- Manage proposal deadlines, workflows, escalation documents, and cross-functional coordination.
- Develop and maintain centralized RFI/RFP knowledge databases and coordinate responses to client information requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science with 5+ years of scientific or biotechnology experience; or Master of Science with 2+ years; or Ph.D. with 1+ year.
- Proven scientific writing skills and experience developing, reviewing, and evaluating scientific documentation.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams and meet multiple deadlines.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, quality, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Availability for up to 10% travel and occasional on-site work in Durham, North Carolina.
