Focus on supervising contractors and remedial work, conducting sampling and reclamation assessments, and mentoring junior professionals during predominantly field-based work.

Location: Fort St. John, British Columbia, Canada; approximately 85% field-based work

Salary: CAD 31.00–50.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

  • Lead contaminated site investigations, including drilling assessments, groundwater monitoring, remediation, and reclamation activities.
  • Conduct elevation surveys, k-tests, groundwater and confirmatory sampling, and operate or supervise remediation systems.
  • Supervise drilling in soil and bedrock, monitoring-well installation, remedial excavations, trucking, and reclamation equipment.
  • Coordinate field contractors, equipment, line locators, hydrovacs, and ground-disturbance preparation, including BC 1 Call submissions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, technical advisors, regulatory agencies, and clients on project progress, execution, and scope changes.
  • Support and mentor junior professionals through field and office training.

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience with environmental assessment, remediation, and reclamation projects.
  • Degree or technical diploma in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, or engineering.
  • Experience as a ground disturbance supervisor and ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Strong safety mindset, self-motivation, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of British Columbia regulations for oil and gas site assessment, remediation, and reclamation.
  • Valid, clean, unrestricted driver’s licence and ability to work outdoors, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate in changing weather conditions.

  • Spill response experience.
  • Eligibility for registration in, or good standing with, a professional organization.
