Utilities Project Manager - Land - Iowa

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States. The role involves nationwide project portfolios and may require up to 75% travel, with higher travel possible for specific assignments.

Salary: USD $85,000–$107,900 per year. Eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus may apply.

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of utility land and right-of-way projects, clients, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and project controls.
• Oversee land activities including regulatory planning, routing, survey permissions, title, acquisition, eminent domain, construction, reclamation, and project closeout.
• Develop project requirements, execution strategies, estimates, procedures, mitigation plans, proposals, and land acquisition budgets.
• Lead, develop, train, and mentor project teams while managing direct-report administration, onboarding, timesheets, and expenses.
• Build collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders, staff, industry committees, regulatory forums, and organizational groups.
• Support sales meetings as a technical expert, conduct complex negotiations, ensure regulatory compliance, and report on profitability and backlog.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, management, or a related field, or applicable experience.
• 7–10 years of related experience, including 3–5 years in senior management.
• Experience with proposal requests, project budgets, land acquisition budgets, and linear project management for pipelines or electric transmission lines.
• Leadership, team building, conflict management, problem-solving, communication, presentation, organization, and continuous improvement skills.
• Intermediate or better proficiency with Microsoft Office and land management database applications.
• Ability to work in a matrix organization, independently and collaboratively, with flexible hours including evenings and weekends when required.

Nice to have

• Energy sector, oil and gas, power, utility, wind, or solar experience.
• PMP certification or enrollment in a PMP certification class.
• Recent experience as a Right of Way Land Manager in land project management.
