What you will do
- Manage a portfolio of utility land and right-of-way projects, clients, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and project controls.
- Oversee land activities including regulatory planning, routing, survey permissions, title, acquisition, eminent domain, construction, reclamation, and project closeout.
- Develop project requirements, execution strategies, estimates, procedures, mitigation plans, proposals, and land acquisition budgets.
- Lead, develop, train, and mentor project teams while managing direct-report administration, onboarding, timesheets, and expenses.
- Build collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders, staff, industry committees, regulatory forums, and organizational groups.
- Support sales meetings as a technical expert, conduct complex negotiations, ensure regulatory compliance, and report on profitability and backlog.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, management, or a related field, or applicable experience.
- 7–10 years of related experience, including 3–5 years in senior management.
- Experience with proposal requests, project budgets, land acquisition budgets, and linear project management for pipelines or electric transmission lines.
- Leadership, team building, conflict management, problem-solving, communication, presentation, organization, and continuous improvement skills.
- Intermediate or better proficiency with Microsoft Office and land management database applications.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization, independently and collaboratively, with flexible hours including evenings and weekends when required.
Nice to have
- Energy sector, oil and gas, power, utility, wind, or solar experience.
- PMP certification or enrollment in a PMP certification class.
- Recent experience as a Right of Way Land Manager in land project management.
