Account Executive Director/Executive Underwriter - National Accounts (Commercial Insurance): Managing and underwriting highly complex national casualty accounts while driving profitability, growth, retention, and new business with an accent on risk assessment, negotiation, and broker relationships. Focus on developing sales plans, solving complex underwriting and financial challenges, and coaching underwriters across the region.

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States; regular in-person meetings with agents, brokers, and customers and travel are required.

Annual base salary: $153,700–$253,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

  • Manage profitability, growth, and retention for a highly complex national accounts book of business.
  • Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
  • Build relationships with agents, brokers, customers, and internal partners to develop sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through consultative marketing and sales, with sales cycles of six months to one year.
  • Develop agency and regional sales plans in partnership with the Managing Director.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide strategic underwriting guidance to underwriters across the region or business unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least five years of underwriting experience; eight to ten years of relevant experience and National Accounts experience are expected for the ideal candidate.
  • Expert knowledge of National Accounts products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
  • Strong financial acumen, critical thinking, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • CPCU designation.
