TL;DR
Senior Associate, Strategic Partnerships & Corporate Development (Private Markets): Sourcing, evaluating, structuring, and executing partnerships that expand HarbourVest's distribution reach and product platform with an accent on financial modeling, commercial diligence, and complex transaction execution. Focus on developing investment theses, negotiating agreements, coordinating cross-functional deal teams, and measuring partnership performance.
Location: Boston, United States; hybrid work arrangement. Up to 18 remote workdays per quarter are available with manager approval.
Base salary: $120,000–$130,000 per year, plus a discretionary annual bonus and potential long-term rewards.

What you will do
- Source, evaluate, structure, negotiate, and execute strategic partnerships from initial sizing through closing and onboarding.
- Build financial models, returns analyses, economic sensitivities, benchmark frameworks, dashboards, and performance reports.
- Develop investment theses on prospective partners, distribution channels, product opportunities, competitor activity, and industry trends.
- Prepare executive memos and decision-grade materials for senior leadership and investment and partnership committees.
- Lead cross-functional working groups across Product, Marketing, Sales, Legal, Client Operations, and Investor Relations.
- Manage post-close partner relationships and maintain the partnership pipeline and execution tracker in Salesforce.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2–6 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, transaction advisory, management consulting, or strategic partnerships/business development within financial services.
- Strong financial modeling, structuring, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to senior audiences.
- Experience working cross-functionally on complex transactions or initiatives.
- Interest in private markets, alternative investments, and platform growth.
