Operations Manager (Environmental Consulting)

Location: Orlando, Florida, USA; office-based role with local travel as needed

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 per year, commensurate with experience and skills.

What you will do

• Direct the day-to-day operations of the Orlando office’s environmental technical service lines: site assessment and remediation, compliance and engineering, and natural resource management.
• Set operational goals, monitor performance metrics, manage workload and staffing utilization, and oversee workforce planning.
• Develop budgets and forecasts, manage office P&L performance, and drive revenue, profitability, utilization, backlog, and project margin improvements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Service Line Managers and operational staff, including performance management, succession planning, and professional development.
• Coordinate project staffing, resolve resource conflicts, support proposals and pursuit strategy, and maintain client relationships.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery aligned with regulatory requirements, OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry standards.

Requirements

• Strong leadership and team management experience in environmental consulting, engineering, or related professional services.
• Experience managing operations, budgets, staffing, resource utilization, business performance, and office-level P&L.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of management experience covering personnel, operations, project delivery, and financial performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, Natural Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, project delivery, client relationship, and business development skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and business management software.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or professional registration/certification such as PE, PG, PWS, CHMM, or PMP.
