Lead QA Engineer (Payments/Fintech)

Salary: Up to $90,000 per year

Product-led company building infrastructure at the intersection of Web3 and payments, powering large crypto platforms and serving millions of users globally.

What you will do

• Test REST APIs, webhooks, signatures, idempotency, and payment or order state machines.
• Build and maintain automated regression tests for key payment flows using Playwright or similar tools.
• Test payment edge cases, including duplicate webhooks, incorrect amounts, forged callbacks, reversals, and provider outages.
• Own the sandbox environment and test data, including simulated payment providers.
• Run load and stress testing before product launches.
• Work with engineering to identify and test potential failure scenarios, using AI tools such as Claude to improve testing workflows.

Requirements

• 3+ years of QA or test engineering experience.
• Strong experience with API and backend testing.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Playwright.
• Background in payments, fintech, or fiat products.
• Ability to take ownership in a startup environment.
• Strong English communication skills and availability within the European timezone/location.

• Familiarity with crypto.
