2027 Early Careers: Analyst, Underwriting – Energy – United States, Houston, TX

Location: Houston, Texas, United States. This is an in-person role requiring work in the office at least four days per week.

What you will do

• Support the evaluation and underwriting of risks across traditional and renewable energy, power generation, mining, petrochemicals, and related industries.
• Review underwriting submissions, operational information, financial data, and loss history to support risk selection, pricing, and coverage decisions.
• Collaborate with underwriters, risk engineers, claims professionals, and multinational specialists to develop tailored insurance solutions.
• Build relationships with brokers and clients while supporting new business and renewal opportunities.
• Monitor industry, regulatory, and emerging risk trends that may affect clients and underwriting decisions.
• Develop technical knowledge of energy insurance alongside analytical, decision-making, and relationship-management skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree received no later than June 2027; an unofficial transcript is required with the application.
• Availability to start the program on July 26, 2027.
• Willingness to work in the office at least four days per week.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in a professional environment.
• Analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to collaborate, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice to have

• Academic background in risk management and insurance, finance, business administration, economics, engineering, energy management, or a related field.
• Interest in the energy industry, commercial insurance, risk management, or complex operational and technical risks.
