What you will do

• Lead the transition from broadcast-focused to multi-platform newsrooms through daily work and training.
• Develop content strategies and pitch local and trending stories during editorial meetings.
• Research, interview, and verify information for complete and accurate news reports.
• Write, edit, shoot, and produce stories for television, websites, social media, and other digital platforms.
• Use social media and websites to build brand recognition, engage viewers, and drive audiences to television.
• Build and schedule digital campaigns promoting local shows and specials.

Requirements

• Journalism degree.
• Daily newspaper or news website experience.
• Strong knowledge of Associated Press style and editorial standards.
• Experience with social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter.
• Ability to review and correct content for grammar, punctuation, accuracy, and formatting.
• Ability to collaborate positively with colleagues and respond constructively to feedback.

Nice to have

• Live web samples or print pages.
• Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and basic HTML skills.
• CSS, Flash, and other relevant technology skills.
