Outside Property Technical Specialist

Location: United States; 100% remote from the primary residence, with mobile work and catastrophe deployments to other states

Annual base salary: $81,500–$134,500, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentives and a sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Handle high-severity and complex first-party personal and business property claims throughout the claim life cycle.
• Inspect loss sites, assess damage, take photographs, and prepare written or computer-assisted estimates.
• Investigate coverage, damages, business interruption calculations, liability, reserves, and settlement values.
• Negotiate settlements with contractors, insureds, representatives, and other stakeholders within authority limits.
• Prepare complex correspondence, manage claim inventories and documentation, and comply with quality standards and state regulations.
• Provide technical consultation, mentoring, and coaching, and participate in legal proceedings or catastrophe response deployments when required.

Requirements

• At least three years of personal insurance or business insurance property claim handling experience.
• High school diploma or GED; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
• Advanced customer service, organization, independent judgment, analytical, investigative, coverage analysis, damage evaluation, negotiation, and communication skills.
• General knowledge of Xactimate estimating systems.
• Ability to inspect structures, climb and carry a 38–49-pound ladder, walk on roofs, and enter tight spaces during catastrophe deployments.
