Actuarial Consultant - Modeling Development Team (Hybrid) (Individual Life)

Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota campus; hybrid arrangement with three office days per week for associates within a 90-minute commute

Salary: $89,000–$164,300 annual base pay

What you will do

• Develop and maintain effective, efficient, and well-governed actuarial models across Individual Life products and business purposes.
• Build modeling expertise in tools such as Prophet and support model coding and development standards.
• Understand partner products, markets, objectives, and responsibilities to deliver modeling solutions.
• Act as a modeling liaison, advise stakeholders, and implement strategic initiatives.
• Evaluate and communicate the impact of complex model changes to stakeholders and model users.
• Identify opportunities to improve results, insights, and modeling capabilities while following Actuarial Standards of Practice.

Requirements

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Advanced technical aptitude and the ability to learn complex subject matter and a variety of software and modeling tools.
• Self-motivation, flexibility, curiosity, creativity, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to experiment and work through complex or ambiguous topics.
• Ability to work in the hybrid Saint Paul office arrangement when within commuting distance.

Nice to have

• ASA or FSA designation.
• Experience with actuarial modeling, especially Prophet; MG-ALFA or MoSes experience is also valued.
• Experience with Individual Life products.
• Understanding of PBR, LDTI, financial reporting, or strategic planning.
