NA Improvement Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing): Improving formulation and packaging processes across FMC’s North American manufacturing network with an accent on process safety, new product introduction, quality assurance, and capital project execution. Focus on designing and scaling manufacturing processes, commissioning production units, analyzing performance data, and solving safety, quality, and manufacturing failures.
Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States; on-site support at manufacturing sites as needed

What you will do
- Lead Management of Change activities for manufacturing processes and assess site capabilities for new or re-sited products.
- Work with R&D and manufacturing teams to design safe, efficient commercial processes and support product launches.
- Provide on-site support during commissioning, trial production, optimization, validation, and new product introductions.
- Develop process designs, equipment specifications, control logic, piping and utility requirements, and construction packages.
- Implement capital projects and ensure compliance with Responsible Care, safety programs, and applicable regulations.
- Support operations through performance analysis, improvement plans, quality control, root cause failure analysis, audits, and qualification tracking.
Requirements
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in a chemical or related environment, including process or scale-up experience.
- Knowledge of equipment design, scale-up procedures, troubleshooting, and project management.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and Process Safety Management, with a demonstrated commitment to personal safety and environmental protection.
- Knowledge of quality assurance programs or statistical quality control, plus strong communication and interdisciplinary team-building skills.
- Ability to use data-based decision-making, plan strategically, and present in informal and formal training settings.
