System Administrator III (Identity & Endpoint Services)

Location: Laredo, Texas, United States; regular on-campus attendance and face-to-face interactions are required.

Salary: $64,938.00 annually; proposed minimum salary of $5,411.50 monthly.

What you will do

• Lead the university’s enterprise identity and endpoint management environment.
• Administer and configure complex servers, troubleshoot network and infrastructure issues, analyze system logs, and provide Tier III support.
• Design and maintain identity lifecycle processes, authentication services, conditional access, device enrollment, compliance policies, and endpoint management solutions.
• Manage hybrid identity infrastructure, directory synchronization, identity governance, Microsoft 365 services, and modern authentication technologies.
• Develop endpoint standards, security baselines, application deployment strategies, operating system lifecycle processes, and device provisioning for Windows, macOS, and iOS.
• Lead technical projects, evaluate emerging technologies, develop disaster recovery plans, and recommend improvements in security, automation, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.
• At least five years of related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience with enterprise identity and endpoint platforms, including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, and Jamf Pro.
• Experience with IAM technologies, including multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, and Conditional Access.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, hybrid identity, endpoint security, Windows Server, PowerShell automation, and systems administration.
• Must maintain a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace; occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Windows Autopilot, Apple Business Manager, Group Policy, Microsoft Defender, enterprise PKI, certificate management, and virtualization.
• Experience leading enterprise infrastructure or endpoint modernization projects.
• Experience supporting higher education or other large enterprise environments.
