TL;DR
Assistant Director, Enterprise Operations & Strategy (Alternative Investments): Supporting the operational expansion and launch of innovative private-market products with an accent on fund structuring, operational readiness, and cross-functional decision-making. Focus on coordinating accounting, treasury, tax, reporting, technology, and service-provider dependencies while transitioning products into ongoing operations.

Location: Boston, United States; hybrid work arrangement. Employees receive 18 remote workdays per quarter, subject to manager approval.

Base salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus and additional total rewards programs.

What you will do

  • Assess operational build capacity for new and existing products across accounting, treasury, taxation, client onboarding, reporting, performance, risk, and third-party service providers.
  • Coordinate product launches from concept through operational readiness and transition to the run team.
  • Document key decisions, dependencies, processes, and milestones in formal action plans and maintain the Enterprise Operations & Strategy dashboard.
  • Assess operational processes and technology requirements, applying lessons from previous launches to improve efficiency.
  • Review legal and product documentation from an operational and commercial perspective.
  • Gather input across the organization and coordinate with operational leads to support product terms, sales models, and ongoing operational readiness.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in private equity or asset management preferred.
  • Understanding of fund structuring, alternative investment vehicles, and product launches.
  • Knowledge of at least one operational function, such as accounting, investor reporting, performance analytics, transfer agency, treasury, corporate finance, compliance, investment operations, or risk.
  • Experience implementing multidimensional projects and prioritizing multiple product launches.
  • Familiarity with regulated structures in the U.S. and international markets, US GAAP, LUX GAAP, and other accounting bases.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; strong communication, facilitation, attention-to-detail, and decision-making skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with alternative investment structures such as 40 Acts, 34 Acts, CFOs, SICAVs, ELTIF 2.0s, LTAFs, RAIFs, CITs, QAHCs, and Cayman Unit Trusts.
  • Experience with separately managed mandates, complex open- and closed-end funds, private equity, credit investments, real assets, or performance fee structures.
  • Prior experience with U.S. and non-U.S. alternative investment vehicles.
