What you will do
- Develop packaging line layouts and optimize packaging equipment designs, specifications, technologies, capacities, and configurations.
- Support packaging for new product launches, including trials and adaptations for bottles, cartons, pallets, and other packaging formats.
- Design, evaluate, and recommend packaging materials and systems for formulated products.
- Coordinate package and packaging-material compatibility testing, including test methods, data analysis, and technical reports.
- Lead initiatives to improve safety, quality, sustainability, waste reduction, process standardization, cost efficiency, and package performance.
- Collaborate with R&D, applications technology, marketing, manufacturing, material handling, engineering, quality, supply chain, suppliers, and customers.
Requirements
- BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of packaging experience in a chemical-related field operation.
- Knowledge of packaging materials, packaging systems, hazardous materials regulations, and product safety standards.
- Maintain 49 CFR, IMDG, and IATA certifications within 90 days.
- Ability to facilitate projects virtually, negotiate with internal and external organizations, and make data-based decisions.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across interdisciplinary teams.
Nice to have
- 5–7 years of experience in a chemical operations environment.
- Knowledge of quality assurance programs or statistical quality control.
