The Boring Rig Foreman (HDD)

Location: Canton, MS, United States. The role works at customer premises and construction job sites, with weekly overnight travel and possible extended travel for storm recovery or emergency utility repairs.

Salary: $34–$39 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.

What you will do

• Oversee and perform construction and installation of horizontal directional drilling projects.
• Schedule crews, delegate duties, and coordinate daily activities to meet project deadlines, budgets, and designs.
• Operate equipment and use HDD locating equipment while adapting drilling plans to field conditions.
• Read blueprints, technical manuals, work orders, system maps, diagrams, and specification books.
• Train crew members, complete required documentation, and support pre-job and post-job hazard analysis meetings.
• Respond to emergency situations and hazardous conditions while maintaining safe work practices.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a boring crew foreman.
• Working knowledge of HDD practices, applications, drilling fluids, and mixing procedures.
• Strong equipment operating, planning, organizational, mathematical, communication, delegation, and leadership skills.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid CDL-A license with a clear driving record.
• Ability to understand and use English orally and in writing.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of experience as a boring crew foreman.
• Technical training in HDD drilling fluid products.
