Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) (AWS)

Location: Williamsport, Pennsylvania, with inspections in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania

Salary: USD $36.00–$39.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform third-party DOT structural steel fabrication quality assurance inspections and prepare reports.
• Inspect bridge fabrication, welds, visual testing, and high-strength Grade 325 bolt testing and installation.
• Read shop drawings, specifications, project provisions, and applicable ASTM and AASHTO requirements to verify material and fabrication compliance.
• Apply AWS D1.5 and AWS D1.1 requirements and support inspection of steel bridge erection.
• Use laptops, smartphones, scanners, printers, Microsoft Word, and digital attachments for documentation.
• Work with fabrication, construction, and quality personnel while maintaining client relations.

Requirements

• American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required and subject to verification.
• At least 3 years of project experience in structural steel fabrication.
• Previous bridge fabrication inspection experience in quality control or quality assurance.
• NDT Level I or Level II certification in UT, MT, PT, or radiographic interpretation.
• ICC Structural Bolting certification or experience inspecting high-strength bolt testing and installation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, a good driving record, and ability to pass pre-hire drug screening.
