Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting

Location: Boston, MA; hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $102,500–$120,400 annual, with potential performance-based and long-term incentives

What you will do

• Prepare financial statements, footnote disclosures, disclosure checklists, and MD&A for quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 8-K, 10-Q, and 10-K.
• Support the EDGAR filing process, including XBRL tagging and review of filing drafts.
• Research and document technical accounting matters and SEC reporting positions under US GAAP.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual lease close activities under ASC 842, including lease reviews, remeasurements, and disclosure schedules.
• Perform journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and supporting schedules during the financial close.
• Maintain SOX internal controls and support internal and external audits, reviews, and ad hoc accounting projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred or CPA eligibility required.
• 3+ years of progressive public or private accounting experience, including at least 2 years with a public accounting firm serving public clients.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and Regulations S-X and S-K.
• Hands-on experience with ASC 842 lease accounting, including remeasurement and disclosure preparation.
• Working knowledge of SOX 404 controls, including documentation, testing support, evidence retention, and remediation.
• Strong Excel, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; availability for up to 10% travel and work in a standard office setting.

Nice to have

• Experience with a national accounting firm or publicly traded global company.
• Oracle ERP and Oracle FCCS experience.
• SEC filing and XBRL platform experience, such as Active Disclosure.
• CPA certification.
