Fiber Optic Testing Technician (Expanded Beam Optics)

Location: On-site in Austin, Texas, United States; daily work from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. is required.

What you will do

• Build new optical fiber connector assemblies using detailed work procedures.
• Test connector assembly performance using defined test methods.
• Collaborate with technicians and engineers to produce and test samples for experimental investigations.
• Document test results and support data summarization and final report preparation.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members while following corporate safety and security standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or higher, completed and verified before starting.
• At least one year of experience in a laboratory, pilot line, or manufacturing facility.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed written procedures.
• Ability to assemble small parts using color identification.
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel for data input, formatting, and analysis.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in an engineering or telecommunications laboratory or production facility.
• Experience handling and assembling fiber optic connectors.
• Experience with automated fiber optic connector assembly equipment.
• Experience testing optical fiber connectors or cleaving optical fibers.
