Supervisor, Sterile Processing (Weekend/Nights) (Sterilization Services)

Location: Tufts Medical Center; onsite sterile processing duties on weekend and night shifts.

Pay range: $31.92–$39.90 per hour. Sign-on bonus eligible.

What you will do

• Plan, organize, allocate, and supervise sterile processing activities on the assigned shift.
• Coordinate the decontamination, processing, sterilization, assembly, and distribution of patient-care medical supplies.
• Ensure surgical case carts and trays are accurately assembled and delivered to inpatient, ambulatory, and operating room areas.
• Maintain inventory, surgical kit component lists, records, documentation, and purchase requests.
• Coordinate staff scheduling, training, performance evaluation, counseling, and development.
• Maintain quality assurance programs, verify sterilization equipment operation, and coordinate maintenance or repairs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Central Services Technician National Certification (CRCST) or CBSPD certification.
• Three years of experience in a central processing department.
• Knowledge of hospital infection control, medical terminology, aseptic technique, sterilization processes, surgical instrumentation, and sterilization equipment.
• Knowledge of JCAHO, IAHCSMM, and AAMI standards, plus Microsoft Office and instrument tracking systems.
• Ability to communicate spoken information accurately in English. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 40–50 pounds or more and stand or sit for eight hours or the length of the assignment.
