Salary: $48,000–$58,000 per year.

What you will do

  • Design and integrate railroad signaling and communications systems.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, material lists, and system documentation.
  • Support the design of signal houses, relay logic, microprocessor-based signal systems, wayside systems, and grade crossings.
  • Participate in system integration, equipment configuration, testing, inspections, and commissioning.
  • Analyze system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and develop installation guidelines and technical procedures.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams, vendors, project engineers, and project managers to deliver technical scope.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Technical training in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • At least two years of experience as a design engineer working with complex electrical systems and/or components.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuitry and proficiency with digital devices such as tablets and laptops.
  • Ability to create and revise AutoCAD and MicroStation drawings, review drawings for accuracy and compliance, and prepare client submittals.
  • Valid driver’s license and effective written, verbal, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, programming, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • OSHA 10 Construction Certification.
