Architect - Personal Insurance Cross-Domain Architecture

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States

Annual base salary: $126,500–$208,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Own architecture for a specific segment or domain within a business unit.
• Provide architectural direction on technical patterns and contribute to target-state technology architecture.
• Define technology roadmaps and support modernization initiatives.
• Conduct hands-on prototypes, proofs of concept, and proofs of technology.
• Reduce technical debt through continuous transformation and establish architectural frameworks.
• Build relationships, communicate technical direction, and secure stakeholder buy-in.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• At least four additional years of architecture or software engineering experience.
• Recent hands-on architecture or engineering experience with modern technologies.
• Experience executing technology modernization initiatives and working in an agile operating model.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry and understanding of business capability models.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, judgment, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Insurance technology experience.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies, APIs, AI/ML, and emerging platforms.
