Rail Systems Engineer I (Rail Signaling and Communications)

Location: Somerset, WI 54025, United States. Travel to headquarters, field offices, client offices, work sites, and other project-related locations may be required.

Salary: $40,000–$50,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support the design and development of railroad signaling and communications systems.
• Prepare and revise engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and technical documentation.
• Assist with system integration for signal houses, signal control systems, and communications networks.
• Prepare test procedures, test reports, commissioning documentation, technical reports, and presentations.
• Review technical specifications and verify compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and field teams to support project delivery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical training in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuitry and proficiency with digital technology, including tablets and laptops.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe PDF Suite.
• Ability to review drawings, create material lists, and prepare engineering distributions and client submittals.
• Effective written and verbal communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Valid driver's license required.

Nice to have

• OSHA 10 Construction Certification.
