Splunk Consultant

Location: Pleasanton, CA or Pasadena, CA; 2 months onsite followed by 100% remote work.

What you will do

• Administer Splunk and Splunk Apps, including developing and extending Apps for specialized functionality.
• Integrate Splunk with legacy data sources and configure it to meet customer requirements.
• Design dashboards and establish best practices for using Splunk data and visualizations.
• Train application and infrastructure teams and mentor less-experienced team members.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, development, business, and project teams.
• Create and maintain architecture, operational process, and training documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in system administration, system events, and system integrations.
• 3+ years of experience with Splunk real-time processing architecture and deployment.
• Strong knowledge of Splunk configuration files, regular expressions, Linux CLI, and Windows.
• Experience with SOAP, REST APIs, web technologies, scripting, XML, and HTML.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, networking fundamentals, MQ, SFTP, and SSL.
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field and strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Splunk DB Connect, ITSI, and HEC.
• Experience with Splunk dashboard design, software development, system architecture, or databases.
